The Cover
A cover for a quality print is sort of a "need to have", where the main concern is: will it have a negative effect on the image presentation? The concern is justified, but we have made an effort to affect the images as little as possible or even improve the presentation compared to the original print.
When considering a cover for the photo art, the following should be taken into account: Aesthetics, Wear and Tear, Cleaning, UV exposure etc. The following options are available:
No Cover
Photo prints are vulnerable to any influence from the outside. The prime reason for no cover for the print is to present the image as real and beautiful as it gets. In this case it must be taken into concideration that life expectancy is likely to decrease.
Lustre
An alternative to open exposure is lamination using "Lustre" as the front layer. Lustre has a mat surface that gives an impression very similar to the original print. It is configured with UV protection and allows for carefull cleaning, using a wet cloth. In general this is a "Heavy Duty" choice with shipping and long lasting investment in mind.
Limiting Factor: Can not be applied to the velvet look; Inkjet on Hahnemühle paper
Invisible Glass
"Invisible Glass" is a term and not a guarantee. This cover is "the" option for protection of the very sensitive Inkjet on Hahnemühle. It may also be applied to other types of print. The glass is especially configured for art. Features are; limited reflection, limited refraction, high light/colour response (the image is presented as is).
Limiting Factor: Short axis max. 105 cm - requires frame
